The Pencil Skirt

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always owned and felt my best in a pencil skirt. It’s an essential piece that can be taken from daytime to evening. It can be dressed up or dolled down. No matter what your shape, you can find a pencil skirt in a fabrication that’s flattering, suits your personal style and compliments your wardrobe. Take for example a woman who has an interview, a 9-5, and then dinner with her husband. She selects that one essential piece and she has nothing to worry about for any of those occasions. So you may think…. but that’s too formal for dinner if she just had an interview and came from her job on Wall St. But in fact it’s not. If she chose a fun print in a neutral tone and paired it with a solid colored turtle neck and a blazer she could look quite different for each. Here are her quick changes:

From interview to work

1. She removes the jacket that she wore for her interview and slips on a cardigan she has at her office.

From work to dinner

2. She drops the cardigan and replaces it with her favorite piece of jewelry and now she’s ready for her dinner date with hubby.

The simplicity of the pencil skirt remains relevant in fashion and will for the foreseeable future.
