The 2016 “GLM 40 Edition” highlights Cause: Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services in the area of Wellness. Cause is a 501(c3) organization that provides relaxation, recreation and resiliency programs to members of the US Armed Forces recuperating from wounds and injuries suffered in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Founders’ goal was to ensure that the new wave of troops returning home from war did not have the same negative and disheartening experience that so many Vietnam veterans did, and to make sure that all injured service members knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the community was there to support them. Various Massage Therapists and Reflexologists volunteer their time and skills at local Veteran Admin Hospital in Washington DC with hopes to expand to Veteran Admin Medical Centers in other states. Cause: Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services mission is promote recreation, relaxation and resilience for wounded, ill, and injured members of the U.S. Armed Services and those supporting their recovery.
