Sean McComb was chosen to be honored as one of our GLM Highlights in Education. Sean was selected by President Barack Obama as the 2014 National Teacher of the Year. He is a 30 year old, accomplished English teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools of Maryland. Mr. McCombs started a program at Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts to help students in the “academic middle” stretch themselves; which would make them more prepared to succeed in college. He has been teaching at Patapsco for eight years; and also is an adjunct instructor at Towson University, training teachers in education and writing. Sean has a master degree in English literature from the University of Pittsburgh. He has won a number of awards for his work. He is also a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the Association of School Business Officers, and the Maryland State Education Association. Our GLM team salutes his achievements.
