His style is inspired by the 1970’s, and his collection shows off the sexy, seductive, and playful side of a woman. He was raised in a very strict southern home but was very creative at a young age. His mother taught him how to sew when he was in junior high. He moved to New York in 2000 to study fashion at Pratt Institute, and he started his career by making props for the film industry. He has definitely stood out this year especially with his work with Rihanna, the singer. After the infamous CFDA Rihanna dress he became a well sought after designer. Selman is currently working with Rihanna on a collaborative collection.
