2015 “GLM 40” Highlight in Faith/Spirituality: Pope Francis

The 2015 “GLM 40 Edition” highlights Pope Francis in the area of Faith and Spirituality. Pope Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, a title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, and Sovereign of the Vatican City. He was born on December 17, 1936 in (Flores) Buenos Aires, Argentina. Pope Francis had a successful first trip to United States this past September, meeting followers and dignitaries in Washington, New York and Philadelphia; and he also became the first Pope to address Congress. Pope Francis spread love and displayed humility in so many ways during his visit. He was seen on many occasions giving hugs to those who desired to approach him. Many Catholics and non-Catholics heeded Pope Francis as he solemnly called for everyone to help the poor and marginalized. We are proud to recognize Pope Francis for his honorable contributions toward humanitarian efforts in the year of 2015!
